Section. 2 - Baton ( Keibō)

Basic posture (Kihon no Shisei)

Lower stance (Gedan no Kamae)

Hold the baton at a 45-degree angle to the vertical of your body.

Both-handed stance (Ryōte no Kamae)

Hold the baton diagonally in front of your body, with the tip in front of your left shoulder.

Middle stance (Chūdan no kamae)

Step forward with your right foot about half a step so that you are facing the right side of your body.

How to hold the baton

1 Place the leather strap around your thumb, let it hang from the back of your hand, and lower the baton for a moment. Adjust the length of the leather strap so that the end of the baton barely touches the little finger side of your palm.

Next, turn your palm over and spread the base of your thumb and index finger, place it on the regular baton, and tighten your little finger, ring finger, and middle finger, and gently grip the baton so that the tip of your thumb and the tip of your index finger face each other.
