Arrest Techniques Instruction Manual (1989)
In 1992, I was privileged to attend the Japanese National Police Academy (Keisatsu Dai-gakkō) in Tokyo and to be familiarised with the Taiho-jutsu system by the Chief Instructor - Inspector Tateishi Teruo.
He kindly provided me with instruction manual:
‘Taiho-jutsu Shidō no Tebiki’

- Training should also include a sequence of body sinking (tai shizume), hitting (hito ate), followed by throwing techniques (Uki-goshi, Seoi-nage, etc.).

「体沈め」に続いて「ひと当て」から投げ技 (浮腰・背負投等) に連続する訓 練も行うこと。

後ろから前腕又はわき下に抱きつかれた場合「踏み付け」をして、離脱する訓練も行うこと。
