Section 1. - Stance / Posture
Stance is the basic stance for Taiho-jutsu. Only when the stance is correctly performed can one perform swift and accurate practice. Therefore, the most important thing about stance is that it is filled with the energy to overpower the opponent, and yet allows you to move swiftly according to the situation without letting your mind and body become tense.

Front stance
Step forward with your left and right feet about half a step each, with the distance between your feet about one foot length.
Right stance
Step forward with your left (right) foot about half a step, shift your right (left) heel slightly inward, and gaze forward.

第1節構え
構えは、逮捕術の基礎となる姿勢である。構えが正しくできて初めて、敏速で正確な施術ができるのである。それゆえ構えは、相手を圧伏する気勢を内に充実し、しかも、心身が凝ることなく機に応じて敏速に動作できることが最も重要である。

左足、右足とそれぞれ約半歩前に進み、両足の間隔は約1足長とする。

左(右)足を約半歩前に進め、右(左)足のかかとをやや内側にずらし正面を注視する。
